351-356._—Man, age about 60, found dead under a tree in the woods
near Prague. No sign of violence. A cord thick as a sugar-loaf around
the neck; another cord attached to a branch of the tree. There was at
first a strong suspicion of violence, but the conclusion reached was
that he had hung himself and that the body had fallen from breaking of
the cord; that death was due to asphyxia was shown by the furrow on
the neck, the dark liquid blood, and the congested lungs. There was no
infiltration below the furrow in the neck, and no lesion of larynx. The
man had shown signs of melancholy.
